History of Chito Ryu
Chito Ryu, often poetically interpreted as “the way of the thousand-year-old Chinese fist” (more accurately translated as “Thousand Tang Style”), is a traditional style of Karate founded by Dr. Tsuyoshi Chitose in 1946. The style incorporates a combination of striking, blocking, and joint-locking techniques, with an emphasis on balance, focus, and efficient body mechanics.
Chito Ryu Karate has evolved over the years, blending ancient traditions with modern-day martial arts practices. It focuses not only on physical techniques but also on developing a strong mental discipline and respect for others.
